2 Corinthians 5:17 "This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!" The Holy Bible (NLT Version)
Accepting salvation means accepting that Jesus Christ died on the cross, bearing every curse of sin, sickness, humiliation, persecution, and overcame it all, having been risen up out of the grave by the Holy Spirit of God. Through this, he received every freedom, even from death itself, and set us free as well. Now, he is seated in heaven at the right hand of the father, and he will return to take his people, the remnant, the bride, the true ecclesia church, with him.
When you believe this and confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, you know yourself to have died with Christ and being risen in him again and granted new life. You know you are now above the curse of sin and death just as he is and are now seated in heavenly places with him. This is a beautiful thing, it means anything that you've done, or has ever been done to you, is now washed away. You take up your identity in Christ, as a son and daughter of the Lord Almighty, Creator of the Universe, The Good Father, and all the other wonderful parts of him that he reveals to you as you seek him. You are now like a little baby in your faith to him, and just as a baby in this world, he guides you by his hand, he picks you up when you stumble, and he is a better father than any other, who only wants good things for his children. You learn to trust in him, he grows your faith, and you simply yield to him. There is no work in this, that's why it is called accepting and receiving salvation, not earning it, because the price has already been paid.
Salvation is not something to take lightly, Jesus physically died the most painful, gruesome death imaginable that we might have it. It is now our joy to be able to receive it and walk out our salvation, which enables us to walk out the call of God on our lives, because he has a purpose and a plan for every one of us.
The will of God is that not one of his people should perish, which is why he sent his son to be crucified, that we can have new life in him. What all is in this new life? He will reveal it to you through prayer, reading in The Word, and how he leads you to follow in him. We've been set free and set above everything of this world, meaning we are no longer a slave to sin, fear, worry, perversion, lust, or anything else that previously defined us. We now seek him above everything else, and he reveals to us the plans he has for us and how he wants to use this new life that was so freely given, that we are called to give back to him. This is what it means to be a living sacrifice as mentioned in Romans 12, to die to self and be risen as a new creation in Christ.
Walking out your salvation is a never-ending journey, and you'll never run out of things to learn. God will put you on the path to resources that will help you, and your greatest resource will always be The Word which is like a holy instruction booklet on how to live as Christ did.
